Don’t Tell Romeo!

I saw Julia on top of Chuck! True story!  Please don’t tell Blair either, you know what she can be like.

At the Kruidvat 50% off sale, I tried to snatch up as many of the Essence Nail Twins as I could.  I ended up not getting a single pair but I did manage to get these two.

Chuck, the blueish purple base coat and half of the “Chuck and Blair” twin set, was an absolute dream to work with.  I managed to coat my nails with just one coat and it was sooooo smooth.  I take back whatever I said about cheaper brands not being as good as the others because this has become one of my favorites both for color and for ease of use.  Honestly, I want all of the nail art twin bases now, just in the hopes that they are as lovely as this one.
The glitter is Julia, a small silver glitter with larger silver glitter squares and the top coat of the “Romeo and Julia” twin set.  I’m not sure why they didn’t actually call it Juliet, but Julia it is.  I was a bit nervous using a glitter with slightly bigger pieces in it after dealing with those annoying stars, but this wasn’t bad at all!  Sure the bigger pieces clump a bit here and there but I find even when that did happen it still looked great.  There wasn’t the issue of the brush not picking up the larger square pieces, which was a major relief.  It has restored my faith in glitter with larger pieces involved.
I LOVE this mani and really am not in any rush to remove it.  It’s got so much BLING to it and I just love the blueish purple color of Chuck.
I don’t know, I’m starting to think that maybe Chuck and Julia were just meant to be!

Big YAY for the Nail Art Twins! I really loved Chuck (its formula) too. Still have to find several polishes to make all my twins complete, but there aren't that many Kruidvats nearby :( Looking great, hon!

I have Chuck, Julia and Thelma. So I need to find the pairs for them and any others that are available! I haven't tried Thelma yet but I'm hoping the formula is the same as chuck because I loooove it!

If you need specific ones drop me a mail and I will keep an eye out for you. We have a BUTTLOAD of Kruidvat here in Rotterdam :)

This looks great!
I have Julia myself, haven't really used it yet though. Btw, I'm guessing in the Dutch translation her name actually is Julia, not Juliet.

Also, if you love glitter and colours, try the special effect topper Circus Confetti. It's sooo colourful and sparkly!

They look like a match made in heaven to me. Lovely, they are together.

Yes, most glitter doesn't cause the trouble that the stars, hearts and so forth shapes can. Removal can be a bear, tho. The easiest way to remove glitter:

Make ten squares of foil, about three to four inches square. Gather ten cotton balls or rounds and grab the acetone or remover. (In my experience, acetone works better, but that is just me :)) Soak a cotton whateveryouareusing in the acetone (or remover) and place it on your blinged out nail. Then wrap it all firmly in a square of foil. Repeat for as many nails as you can, for the first round.

Let this all sit for about... Five-ish minutes. Then remove, pressing down hard on the nail as you pull off the little packages. All of the glitter and polish should just slip smoothly right off your nails. Then just repeat for the nails you weren't able to do in the first round. Clean up any remainder with more cotton and remover, and you are all set to do your next manicure.

This process does take a little time, but it is faster and sooo much easier than trying to scrub glitter off your nails. Trust me! lol

Be sure to moisturise well after this procedure, as the soak will dry out your skin and cuticles a bit.

Okay, you probably already knew about that method, but I thought I'd share, just in case you didn't. I don't know who invented it, but I could just hug them. It makes wearing glitter a pleasure, instead of a "I dred cleaning this stuff off!" chore. :)

Yikes! Long comment! Shutting up, now.

@Ilsa - Oh I never even thought of Julia being the Dutch version, I bet that's it! I'll keep an eye out for the confetti!

@Ice Queen - You are SO right about that method. The lady who did my acrylics showed it to me and I did it to finally take the acrylics off. With my polish (even non glitter) now I break up cotton balls and press the remover soaked bits on my nails and leave them there a while. Same thing only I don't use the tinfoil. Works a treat!
