Stains and Sparkles

Remember how much I loved WnW Teal of Fortune?  Well, I wasn’t loving it so much after I removed it!

YIKES!! I have never had staining like that before.  Granted, I forgot to use a basecoat because I quickly painted my nails before leaving to go out, but jeeez.. I’m going to have to scrub my nails with some kind of whitening something or other to sort this out. Anyone have tips?
Today I had to remove my awesome Metro Mani because it was starting to chip.  I felt like a little bling, so I grabbed two polishes I hadn’t tried yet to see how they look together.

Essence Circus Confetti and Finger Paints Wine at the Gallery.  I thought the wine color as a base coat would work with the colors in the confetti polish rather than my usual go-to black.

I love these finger paints bottles.  Anything even slightly out of the ordinary really thrills me to bits.  I also love that they have cool names rather than just numbers.

I had been eyeing Circus Confetti for a while now whenever I visit Kruidvat.  I was curious what it looked like on.  I found it slightly difficult to work with because while I could get a lot of the glitter out on the brush, as I was trying to apply it, it wanted to push up and clump together towards the tip of the nail.  I ended up with more of the glitter on there than I would have liked because I kept faffing around with the brush trying to spread it out.

I still like it though.  Maybe not an OMG! I want to wear this forever!! kind of love, but I’ll wear it for at least the day.  Maybe two, since this IS glitter and I’m not looking forward to trying to remove it.

Wow that is very blingy and pretty. As for the staining, I hear that whitening mouth wash scrubbed with a toothbrush on your nails should whiten them. I've only stained once and I just let it wear off naturally. Good luck!

Try lemon juice, that worked for me before.

That's the reason I didn't like it. It was hard to get on and it sucked getting off :(

That's why I didn't like it, horrible to get off!

On first look I thought you had some kind of cool gradient going on! On second look: yikes... I always try to put on some clear nail polish under darker colours, just in case.

You could try the stuff they use to clean dentures, I know that's a trick to get stains out of tea cups... Maybe the lady who did your nails would know?

just buff it whit a very soft file with a high gritt!
The higher the gritt the softer the file is!
you can buy them at the kruidvat haha the ones with more sides (usually a white and grey side to make a shine on your nails)

@Lacquer Ware - I tried it all, ended up buffing it off!

@Ngelic - Well it was my fault, I was in a hurry and didn't use a base coat :/

@Melissa - Tried lemon juice too, no luck. It was holding on for dear life!

@Penny - Did you use a base coat? I am wondering if it stains so bad if you do.

@Lori - It worked!

@Dee - I never thought of the denture stuff but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Although I hope there isn't a next time!

@Ellen - Yeah that's what I ended up going with although I sort of just filed it off and then buffed it smooth.
